In April 2018, Tunisia became the first African Country to pass a start-up act which officially began to take effect in October 2018. The Law seek to provide a framework for the resurrection and the development of emerging businesses that achieve high added value at national and International level.
Following in Tunisia's steps, The Senegalese government late last year, passed a new start-up Act cited as Law No. 2020-01 of January6, 2020. The law is created to encourage the development pf emerging enterprises. It establishes the modalities for the creation and Promotion of start-ups.
All the foregoing makes it quite clear that national legislation that create clear frameworks and operational support for start-ups are one of the best way to help Africa's start-ups and Founders thrive through and Improve the ecosystem in the long term.
